What is Remy Hair ?
/l/1700/1799_s.jpg Full lace/Lace front wigs are manufactured with a cap, and a thin lace sewn on top of the cap. Individual hairs are then sewn into the thin lace,or thin skin. Full lace wigs will have lace all around the unit,(some with stretch material for security) and require the lace to be cut all around the unit, once it is put on. You will be cutting a hairline around your entire head. By doing so, once done you can wear your hair anyway you like, ponytails, up-dos etc. Yet lace fronts laceis only in the front. Think about it. With the wig, you have just cut yourself a new hairline around your entire head. Once the unit is applied, you will have on a full hair wig - but the front , back, and sides of the hair wig will not be like a regular wig. The full lace wig will appear that all of the hair is growing directly from your scalp.

Lace Front wigs are manufactured with a thin lace,or thin skin that extends from ear to ear across the hairline. Lace front wigs are made similar to a regular ladies wig along the back and sides of the unit, except thereis no comb. When you receive the unit the lace will be really long in the front, you will cut the lace along the front of the unit, once it is attached. The goal here is to create yourself a new hairline. You will not cut all of the lace, as you will apply adhesive to the lace/your new hairline. Once the unit is applied, you will have on a full hair wig - yet the front of the hair wig will not be like a regular wig. The wig will appear that it is again growing directly from your scalp.

Lace Front is usually a small piece of nylon net that extends about 1 inch outward from the front of the base unit. The Lace Front can be trimmed and easily customized to the desired hairline. (Be careful not to cut to close, you could mess up your lace front.) It is very natural looking and better in hotter climates but is not as durable as thin skin.
Thin Skin - Thin Skin is more durable and also gives the appearance of hair growing from the scalp. The bottom layer of thin skin base is a thin specially blend of Polyurethane materials that can accommodate any kind of attachment by the bonding tapes and adhesives.) It is best used in cooler climates, so is the glue adhesives that are used to attach them.

Where does it come from? Human hair is grown mostly by ladies of various ages, in various countries, such as Europe, Asia,Africa, and Indonesia. European hair is more fine following the cuticle removal process. Indian hair is oval, like European hair and about the same diameter once stripped of its cuticle layer. Human hair is harvested in various countries, where it is gathered using special hair brushes, and then it is sold to the people who harvest it.
The cuticle layer is removed from the hair and then bundled accordingly to length; and then it is carefully separated into standard color groups.
Finally, it is then sold to various distributor's around the world of which it is then sold to wig maker manufacturer's, beauty supply stores, hair salon's, etc.

Asian Remy can be custom ordered. Asian hair is also grown and harvested from women and during processing the cuticle layer is stripped away in order to eliminate hair tangling. This hair is also a little more coarser than Indian hair and is more affordable, but does not tangle like regular Chinese hair sold in beauty supply stores.

Indian Remy This hair is truly our most exceptional ever. It Is cut from one persons head & sewn in the same direction hair naturally grows.
Unlike other hair, The Cuticle is just like nature intended it to be. Texture is silky soft and slightly wavy. Cuticle hair is created by careful processing which leaves the cuticle layer of the hair in place. The result is a superior hair item that colors beautifully - it has the highlights and natural shading just like your hair.

European Hair (Russian Hair, Caucasian Hair):
A fine to medium density fiber that is naturally straight to slight wave and available in a variety of natural colors, most commonly dark blonds to medium browns. The Virgin colors will often be streaked with lighter shades or the ends will be much lighter than the roots due to weathering.
Monofilament material is a thin like gauze, it is nearly transparent material which is much more comfortable to the touch. Hair strands are attached by hand-knotting them to this material, one strand at a time, hence the term "mono-filament". This allows the strands to swivel freely on base and so the monofilament wig is more easily styled. This weaving technique also creates ventilation. Your monofilament wig will breathe while you are wearing it, and this prevents heat and moisture buildup. The monofilament fabric itself is nearly transparent, and so takes on the approximate color of your own natural scalp, whatever shade that is. This amazing effect is another plus to that wig design. People say that a monofilament made wig has the most natural looking part in the wig industry, because it bares the natural scalp color of the wearer.
Like Transparent LACE!

Because the wigs are 100% human hair they may shed in a year or so after repeated brushing, combing, styling, etc This can be repaired also (ex. you can even add hi-lites at this time to change it up a little for no additional charge). The only way you will need to buy another wig is if you want to change up your styles.

For the best natural appearance, the choice is yours. Yet our full lace wigs can be customed usingFrench lace,Swiss lace, thin skin, monofilament front hair lines & Thin Skin. The Lace Front / Thin Skin is cut back to the hair line to give an invisible natural hair line prior to (gluing around the perimeter) attaching your hair system.

Wigs can be attached to: Customers that are Alopecia, Chemotherapy Patients, or Clients with Growth Hair (which is braided down) and wig wire combs can be sewn on the wig for more security at the nape for clients with growth hair.
* Daily/Weekly Attachment: Attaching and removing daily/weekly with use of 1-10 day glue (mity tite) for lace front. However, this method cause more wear and tear on your hair system, it's always great to have a back up unit..

The basic cap structure can be mix matched using the following components
Create that ideal hairpiece:
BASE
The base is the material of the hairpiece.
Everyone has a different lifestyles, and as we stated before; there are several bases to choose from:
Lace
Lace is the most undetectable material used in hairpieces these days, especially transparent lace. Once placed on your scalp,
there is no netting to signal that the hair on your head is not the hair you've had all of your life.
The lace foundation disappears as it touches your skin.
SFS Super Fine Swiss Lace: is the thinnest and most delicate lace available and can be used for the front hairline,
it can also be used for the entire base but #64 French Lace is recommended with a Super Fine Swiss Lace front.Virtually invisible.
Swiss Lace: is a little thicker than the Super Fine Swiss but does disappear on the scalp very well
and is more durable than the Super Fine Swiss.Undetectable
French Lace: is a good choice especially for bases. It is very durable and has good disappearing qualities
on the front hairline as well. It is available in bleached a pinkish, yellow, white, tan, brown, black colors.
If matched in proper color with the own skin tone is undetectable as much as Swiss Lace.
Lace in the front:
 ADVANTAGES
 DISADVANTAGES
  • It is most natural
  • It's glued down well and undetectable both to the sight and touch
  • It's a delicate material
  • It needs periodic maintenance
  • It's short life span (7 months)
Lace in the base:
 ADVANTAGES
 DISADVANTAGES
  • It's most breathable
  • It is lightweight and comfortable
  • it is glued down well and undetectable both to the sight and touch
  • It's a delicate  material
  • It's less maintenance  than thin skin
  • It's short life span (6 months)
Lace + Thin skin Poly strip (around sides and back)
Thin skin Poly strip is used around the perimeter of lace bases so glue or tape can be applied to your lace.
It is very thin and difficult to detect it with your touch.
 ADVANTAGES
 DISADVANTAGES
  • Strong tapes and adhesives can be used on the poly strip
  • Poly strip is more detectable to the touch than the lace
Lace + Poly gauze (around sides and back)
Poly gauze is used around the perimeter of lace bases so glue or tape can be applied.
It is more durable and thicker than thin skin and a little more detectable to the touch .
 ADVANTAGES
 DISADVANTAGES
  • Again strong adhesives and tapes can be used on the poly gauze
  • Poly gauze is more detectable to the touch than the poly strip
Lace front + Thin skin base
 ADVANTAGES
 DISADVANTAGES
  • It's a natural frontal hairline
  • it's easy and short maintenance with tapes and strong adhesives
  • The thin skin  base is not airy(breathable) like lace and can't accept hair density over 85%
Lace front + Poly skin base
 ADVANTAGES
 DISADVANTAGES
  • There's a natural frontal hairline
  • It's easy and short maintenance with strong tapes and adhesives
  • It's a resistant base
  • The poly skin base is not as breathable; like thin skin and more detectable to the touch
Thin skin
Thin skin is a very thin poly material and can be used for bases and fronts. This type of base looks very very natural when hair is injected into it. Thin skin can also be used around the perimeter of lace bases so tape can be applied to it. It is very thin and is very difficult to detect it with your touch .
 ADVANTAGES
 DISADVANTAGES
  • It is a easy and short maintenance with tapes and/or strong adhesives
  • The natural appearance also in the front area
  • The longer life span (7-12 months)
  • It's less breathable than lace
  • It's less natural than lace in the front area
  • This can't accept hair density over 85%

Poly skin
This base is constructed of a thin layer of permeable skin whereby the hair is injected or knotted into it at pre-determined angles to replicate the lift and naturalness of real hair. More durable, resistant and is a thicker material than thin skin and can be used for heavy hair densities. Injected and knotted hair into poly skin again does look very natural, but is easier to detect to the touch than thin skin.
 ADVANTAGES
 DISADVANTAGES
  • It's a easy and short maintenance with strong ahesives and tapes
  • It  accepst heavy hair densities
  • It is ideal for very extended wear
  • It's longer life span (2-3 years)
  • It is less breathable than lace
  • It is less detectable to the touch than thin skin
  • It's not a good choice as base in the frontal area for a natural-looking hairline
Fine Mono in the base
Fine monofilament base allows the scalp to breath easily and provides good a natural look. It is more stronger and more durable than lace.
 ADVANTAGES
 DISADVANTAGES
  • ItExcellent breathability
  • Accept heavy hair densities
  • Good Life span (1 year)
  • A good thing is that hair knots don't need to be bleached
  • It is less natural to the touch than lace
  • It is less durable than poly skin
  • It is not a good choice as base in the frontal area for a natural-looking hairline

Hair Density
Hair density is simply how many hairs are added to your hair system base. In the old days, high density was necessary because the base materials were usually made of thicker materials and would be easily exposed if hair density were low. Nowadays, with the advance of thinner base materials such as lace and thin skin low density tends to look more natural especially with the see through look along the hairlines. You can chose different hair density in different areas of the base.
  • Extra light density is 45%
  • Very light density is 50%
  • Light density is 55% to 65% .
  • Medium light is  70% to 80%.
  • Medium is 90% to 100%.
  • 110% and up  (For women only. This is very, very thick).
Density is hard to gauge from photos and a lot depends on your hair length, how curly it is, how dark it is, the lighting, etc. The pictures below are of a factory density book which contains the standard densities of 50%, 80%, 100%, 130%, 150% and 180%. When looking throughtout our website you will see how various densities look in various colors and lengths...

Curl and Wave Hair
Curl size is expressed in millimeters (1 mm = 0.04 inch). The higher the curl size in millimeters the straighter the hair. The very slightest wave, called "Body Wave" is harly detectable in hairpieces.  You can see very large, slight waves.  It seems to help your hair remember the way you comb it.  When you comb it wet, and then let it dry in your own style, the body wave seems to keep your set better.
  • Body Wave
  • Slight Wave                         30mm-26mm
  • Medium (Standard)Wave  25mm-20mm
  • Tight Wave                          20mm-16mm
  • Medium (Loose) Curl         15mm-11mm
  • Tight Curl                             10mm-06mm
  • Afro curl                               05mm-02mm
Hair Style
Freestyle, The Freestyle is if you want the flexibility of moving the part from time to time or no part at all.  With freestyle, there's not a defined direction of which the hair has to go. If you're not sure about what style to choose, you can send a picture of your choice to us.

Hair length
Hair length is at the customer's discretion during the first cut in for the hairpiece. Any length up to 36 inches can be crafted. Additional fees may apply for all lengths over 16 inches.
Hair Knotting and Bleaching
Natural single hair knotting is standard on all top lace front hairlines unless other requests are made. All bleached knots can be added upon request, may have additional fees, depending on the style.
Remy Hair
Human hair collected directly from a hair donor is called Remy Hair. Sometimes it is referred to as Cuticle & Cut Hair. The majority of human hair sold over the counter in shops is non-cuticle hair. Over the counter hair cuticle is stripped by an acid-bath. With Remy hair, our manufactures do not do this so the hair cuticle remains intact, which ensures the cuticle layers are aligned in the same direction. The hair is stronger with great luster and has the potential to last alot longer if properly maintained. The greatest advantage of Remy hair is tangle-free and has a longer life.
Attachment
Attachment refers to how the hair system attaches to your scalp or balding area. The two most commonly used attachment methods are double sided tapes, and liquid adhesives. The choice is a matter of preference. In most cases, customers can use either the tape or bonding, or even a combination of both. This strictly depends on the customer's lifestyles and the type of bases. If someone is very active, or lives in extreme climatic conditions (wind, rain, strong sun,) then it is important to choose an attachment that offers the maximum hold possible. Whereas, if someone is more concerned about the room to breathe on the scalp and being able to cleanse the scalp on a regular basis, then it is important to choose an attachment method that allows easy clean up and maintenance that's good for them.  All tapes are double sided. They have a backing that must be peeled off; tapes are generally suited for daily or short-term use where the customer can remove the hair system and the tapes at night and then reattach them the next day. This allows for daily clean up of the scalp and the hair system using a remover. Liquid adhesives such as mity tite, etc. are generally more suitable for extended wearing for over a couple of days, or even longer.

Some Adhesives and Tapes are listed below:
Adhesives
Top lace Flesh Glue: A water-based white cream that dries clear and without shine. Used mostly on the lace front and can give up to 7 days hold.
White Glue: Goes on white dries clear. Apply to scalp and while still wet apply hair piece and press down with brush, then quickly remove hair piece and let dry for 5 minutes for extra hold apply second coating, scalp and hairpiece must be free from oil and clean.
"I" Glue: Use on lace or poly gives a hold of 3 days to 1 week on lace and up to 4 weeks on poly. Apply to scalp and while still wet apply hair piece and press down with brush, then quickly remove hair piece and let dry for 5 minutes for extra hold apply second coating, scalp and hairpiece must be free from oil and clean.
Ultra-hold: Excellent medical grade formulated acrylic adhesive. Used mostly on poly and is regarded as the strongest adhesive available holding up to 4 weeks. Can also be used on lace for a strong hold, but does give a little shine through the lace.
Mity Tite: Medical grade formulated acrylic adhesive. It is a soft bond extended wear adhesive not as strong as Ultra-Hold but does hold for up to 3-4 weeks on poly. Again, can be used on lace but again gives a little shine through lace.
Super Grip Adhesive: Goes on white and dries clear, can be used to reactivate tape, for use with lace, first apply Scalp Protector, let dry, than apply Super Grip

                                                       Tapes

Contoured Tape is available in many contours (A, AA, B, BB, C, CC and D).It's ideal for attaching the entire front and sides/back.
Tape Rolls are ideal for cutting lengths of tape to your exact specifications.
All Lace support tapes 7mm, 4mm, Pink Royal Lace Support Tape: Can be placed onto the lace under hair density to give a little more hold, but should be used right at the front hairline as they will show through. They can be used on poly perimeters and give a medium for up to 3 days.
Dura-Flex
This new transparent tape is one of the strongest, most durable double-sided tape on the market today. It can last up to 3-4 weeks without the use of other adhesives. This product consists of a fiber filled hypoallergenic pressure-sensitive adhesive. The transfer adhesive is supplied on a tan paper liner. The adhesive thickness measures a nominal 5-mil.Expect a 3 weeks bonding.
Scalp Protector
If you are have sensitive skin, oily skin or excessive perspiration it helps to prevent irritation of scalp due to tape, excess unit wear, adhesives, allergic reaction. It forms a tough, thin, protective barrier, which will wear off gradually over 2 to 3 days but will not dissolve in the scalp's perspirations. The tape and adhesives will adhere better and last longer. It helps to prevent tape from getting gummy.
Citrus Resolvent: Fast acting on flesh glue but gentle to skin. Avoid contact with eyes.
Lace Release: This solvent reduces the chance of damaging lace frontal .Adhesive residue remains on scalp not on hairpiece. Non-oily
